There are about 70 new Pokemon, which is kind of disappointing since the other generations introduced over 100, but whatever. These games introduce three starters,Chespin Fennekin, and Frokie, Fennekin being a Fire type, Frokie being a Water type, and Chespin being a Grass type.
They also have 2 new legendarys Xerneas, which is exclusive to Pokemon X, and Yveltal, which is exclusive to Pokemon Y. There are plenty of other Pokemon in these games, but there are to many to go over.
Another one of my favorite things about X and Y is the new type, Fairy. Many old Pokemon, such as Jigglypuff, Mawile, and Snubbull, had their type changed to Fairy. Many new Fairy types where introduced as well, such as Sylveon. Fairy types best feature is its immunity to Dragon and it's strength against Dragon, Dark and Fighting. Fairy is a very powerful type and one of my favorites.
Some other minor features to X and Y are Super Training and Pokemon Amie. Super training is an easy way to EV train your Pokemon, giving them higher stats. Pokemon Amie, my favorite of the two, is a Nintendogs-like mini-game where you can pet and feed your Pokemon. The games also have new online features where you can battle and trade people from across the world.
Possibly the biggest feature of the new X and Y is Mega Evolution. Mega Evolution is a way for Pokemon to evolve even further. The way this works is if you give a Pokemon a Mega Stone you can Mega Evolve them during battle, but only one Pokemon can Mega Evolve during battle and the Pokemon goes back to normal after the battle ends. Only some Pokemon can Mega Evolve, such as the Kanto starters, currently over 20 Pokemon can Mega Evolve. I think it is a very cool and creative feature, and I hope they come up with new and cool features in future games.
Pokemon X and Y are very fun games that I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the RPG genre. That concludes my review of Pokemon X and Y, I hope you enjoyed it.
